Binibini

Poster by Janelle Mariano

Binibini means a young and unmarried woman. Because of this reason, I have chosen to have a woman as the center of the poster. The woman represents a young and carefree woman. Aside from this, I have chosen to use a retro theme for the colors of the poster to commemorate the decade it was released, which is the 1970s.

I have chosen to create a song poster for Binibini because I believe that out of all the options, I can best convey the song through a poster. Binibini is one of my favorite OPM songs that I grew up listening to.

Choreography by Elkanah Saavedra

Magsayawan

Because of the pandemic, most people felt trapped and as if they couldn't do anything they wanted. People also felt sadness and emptiness given the circumstances. I wanted to convey a message that there's still a way for us to feel free and happy. In my case, I felt more connected to my hobby which was dancing, I got to focus on myself and my talents more. I wanted to grow more as a dancer so I used this time to hone my skills and explored different styles of dance. Somehow, I felt happy and contented as I saw improvement within myself. There's always a way for everything if you want it to.

I decided to make choreography to this song because I guess it's the way my body just moved to the flow of the music. Those were the steps that came out of my mind naturally as I was trying to freestyle some steps for the choreography. The song was very groovy, although I still wanted to add more of the style I was more comfortable with, which was waacking. Overall, It was just a happy-vibe kinda song and I went with that.

I chose this song because I missed having face-to-face training with my teammates, and performing with them on stage. Dancing is really what brings us closer together, and I just want to have another moment with them before we graduate, thus why I chose the song "Magsayawan".
